The Centre of Excellence is being delivered via the hosting of a series of training seminars and a face-to-face conference on Nationally Significant infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). These events are open and free to attend for district and county council representatives from across the Eastern region. This page provides details of the seminars hosted, and the presentations provided at each of the events.
To support other local authorities, Suffolk County Council is delighted, as part of the Centre of Excellence, to share its Reference Guide to NSIPs, which was originally put together as an internal guide, and which builds on the substantial amount of learning gained by the Council through its involvement in a large number of NSIPs.
On Wednesday 15 March 2023, Suffolk County Council, in association with EELGA, held the East of England NSIP Centre of Excellence Conference at the Apex, Bury St Edmunds.
The event featured keynote speakers, Kate Johnson (Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) who discussed Policy Updates on NSIP Work and National Policy Statement and Hannah Hickman (University of West of England) who presented the National Infrastructure Planning Association (NIPA) research on post-decision implementation at Hinkley Point C.
You can view the documents from the conference, the presentation documents and an image of the conference below.
