What happens after you've reported something

The Citizens Advice consumer service will assess your report and share the information with the local Trading Standards department so that we can tackle wider problems with businesses at a local level.

We might take action to stop the trader from acting unfairly, for example, by educating them about the law.

If necessary, we may take legal action against them to stop them from trading completely.

Trading Standards cannot help you fix your problem - for example, we can’t help you get a refund. Find our more about your consumer rights from Citizens Advice.
