Building Fire in Ipswich

Firefighters attended a 4-storey property in St George's Street, Ipswich following a call from concerned neighbours. 

Upon arrival it was clear that there was a fire in the basement flat of the building. The fire was extinguished using high pressure hose reels and once the fire was out, the property was ventilated to help clear the residual smoke. 

Police and Ambulance colleagues were in attendance (Police Reference 51) - and a single female casualty was passed into the care of the ambulance service. 

Four engines attended the scene from both Princes Street and Ipswich East Stations. 

A stop to the incident was called at 10:36am
