Appeal a Blue Badge decision

If you disagree with the outcome of your Blue Badge application, you can ask us to review the decision by submitting an appeal.

This page is part of Apply or reapply for a Blue Badge

Before you appeal

To be considered, your appeal must include:

  • a clear explanation of why you believe the decision should be reviewed
  • new and recent supporting medical evidence from a consultant, specialist or another healthcare professional who is currently involved in your treatment or care
  • evidence that was not provided or considered as part of your original application.

Appeals submitted without new supporting evidence cannot be considered.

Medical evidence

We cannot accept a letter from your GP on its own. It must be supported by evidence from a consultant or another specialist involved in your care.

The information we need should already be available as part of your existing care or treatment. Please do not pay for extra medical evidence. If you choose to pay for it, we will not refund the cost.

Evidence we cannot accept

We cannot accept appointment letters or Blue Badge support letters from ZoomDoc, The GP Clinic or other online healthcare providers.

These organisations are not involved in your ongoing care, so we cannot use their letters as evidence for your appeal.

Please do not pay for these types of letters, as we will not refund the cost.

Time limit

You must submit your appeal within one month of the date of your refusal decision.

How to appeal

You can send your appeal by email to bluebadgeteam@suffolk.gov.uk.
