Suffolk Military Covenant: Strategy and Reports

Here you can find our action plan, annual report and links to strategic documents linked to the armed forces community.

To oversee this pledge the Suffolk Armed Forces Covenant Board has been formed. This includes representation from local military units, military welfare and veteran support agencies, local charities and council officers. The board is briefed on certain subjects affecting the armed forces community by inviting service provider representatives to attend these meetings. The Covenant Board meet 3 times a year.

There are a range of identified issues which the Suffolk Armed Forces Covenant Board is keen to see practical action and to that end an Action Plan has been developed to cover the period 2024-2026.

The key themes are:

  • Awareness and Communication
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Education, Employment and Training
  • Housing

The Westminster Centre for Research in Veterans at the University of Chester has produced a programme comprising six videos to educate nurses and healthcare practitioners to deliver optimum care to military veterans and their families through an understanding and insight into the Armed Forces Community.
