Proposed 20mph zone in Thurston

Suffolk County Council proposes to introduce a new 20mph zone to various roads in Thurston. See how you can have your say.

Suffolk County Council is proposing to introduce a new 20mph zone to complement the traffic calming measures installed as part of recent development in the area.

The proposed 20mph zone includes Thurston Community College and the library at its western extents, and Thurston Church of England Primary Academy at its eastern end.

The proposed 20mph zone is intended to make the road safer for people and traffic, and to discourage drivers from using the road in ways that are inappropriate for the type of road and the nearby homes and properties.

The proposed 20mph zone will enhance road safety conditions and support an environment that encourages active travel and connection within the community.
