Zero tolerance statement

A statement of commitment from the the Children and Young People's Service to respect and be inclusive of everyone in our workforce and community.

Suffolk County Council Children and Young People’s Services (CYP) Community Health Services (CHS) are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone. Our staff are here to help you and will always try to be as polite and helpful as possible even during difficult times.

We have a zero-tolerance policy (available on request) towards any form of discrimination, harassment, violence, or unethical behaviour. This includes actions based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. Shouting, swearing or using threatening behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Patients and members of the public who are abusive or threatening towards our staff may be asked to leave. It may sometimes be necessary for the police to be informed and for patients to be removed from our services.

Any violation of this policy will be met with immediate and appropriate action. We encourage everyone to report any incidents of misconduct, knowing that their concerns will be taken seriously and handled with confidentiality and care.

We hope that you welcome our zero-tolerance approach, which is in place to protect the interests of our hard-working colleagues as well as all in the communities we serve. Together, we can create a positive and supportive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and safe.
