Senna the spaniel went through a 'ruff' time when he ended up being trapped for more than three hours in a drainage pipe.

The nine-year-old dog found himself trapped more than 30m into the pipe at his home in Hepworth Road, Market Weston.

Senna, a black spaniel, with rescuers in high-viz clothing.

However after being located and dug free he was none the worse for his ordeal.

Station Manager Adam Eagle of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, who attended the incident, said the pipe drained into a nearby pond, which is where it was thought Senna had got in.

"A team from the Norfolk Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) was called in and, working with a local drainage company, the dog’s owners and local residents, we were able to locate Senna,” he said.

"Thanks to the combined efforts of USAR, the owners, and local residents, we were able to dig down to the pipe and create an access point.

"After some encouragement from his owner, Senna was able to be brought back up and was safely rescued."
