Pony rescued from water in Worlington

Crews responded to reports of a pony stuck in river behind Worlington Hall, near Mildenhall

Crews and specialist rescue teams attended from Mildenhall, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds, including water rescue and technical rescue units.

Firefighters located one pony standing in approximately five feet of water. The animal did not appear distressed, crews set up specialist rescue and water safety equipment, halters and rescue lines and successfully brought the pony to safety. No vet assistance was required.

There were no injuries reported.

A stop to the incident was called at 9.54am and brought to a close.
