Time: 2:08pm
Incident type: Animal rescue
Attending stations: Lowestoft South, Bury St Edmunds, Halesworth

Crews from Lowestoft South, Bury St Edmunds and Halesworth are en-route to rescue the animal, which is stuck approximately 40 metres from a path. Also in attendance from Lowestoft South is our water rescue team.

Appliances sent include a Unimog all-terrain vehicle, enhanced rescue tender and standard fire appliance from Lowestoft South, and fire appliances from Halesworth and Bury St Edmunds.

Updates will be provided when available.

Update (3:15pm)

The Unimog has been released from the incident due to inaccessibility. Instead, crews will use straps for a manual front drag to try to release the cow from a shallow ditch. Thick mud is making the rescue difficult.

Update (4:28pm)

The cow was released by the crew at 3:19pm and returned to its herd. A stop was called at the same time.

This incident closed at 3:50pm.
