Fire takes hold in a block of garages in Haverhill

Two fire engines were mobilised earlier today to attend a fire that had taken hold in a block of three adjoined garages. 

Upon arrival, crew using breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets gained entry and tackled the blaze. By 10:43am the fire was under control. 

A stop was called at 10:53am, at which point firefighters removed the roof tiles to dampen down the roof space in case of any hot spots. 

A crew from Haverhill Fire Station reinspected the block at 14:26pm and closed the incident.
