Car fire on A14 near Newmarket

Crews attended a car fire on the A14 in Newmarket. Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fire has spread to a nearby fence.

Firefighters used hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and prevent further fire spread. Police attended the scene and one lane was reopened during the incident.

Following extinguishment, crews remained at the scene for a short period to carry out dampening down operations and check for any remaining hotspots. No casualties were reported and a stop was called at 6:58pm.
