Various roads, Lowestoft - prohibition and restriction of waiting (experimental)

Suffolk County Council proposes to implement an experimental Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to prohibit and restrict waiting on parts of Saturn Close, Lowestoft and its adjoining roads

The proposed measures include new No Waiting at Any Time (double yellow lines) and a length of ‘No Waiting Monday to Friday 10am - 11am and 2pm - 3pm’ (single yellow line) to protect visibility at junctions and to facilitate the passage of traffic in the roads leading to Horizon School (Pupil Referral Unit).

Due to the expansion of Horizon School, these proposals are being progressed on an experimental basis to monitor their effectiveness and to provide opportunity for further amendment. At present, the impact of additional traffic movements, additional parking demand and potentially displaced vehicles is not fully understood. The experimental TRO will help to determine an appropriate long term solution to manage parking in this area.

Should you wish to provide a formal representation, either objecting to or in support of these proposals, you may do this from 15 August 2023 when the experimental TRO period begins.

Details on how to make a formal representation are included on the public notice – a copy of which is attached above.
