What are common children’s health issues?

Children are susceptible to illnesses as their immune system is still developing. Mild illnesses are a part of growing up and there is not a lot that can be done to avoid them. But a basic awareness of the common health issues faced by children can guide parents and address their concerns.

Getting local help with common children’s health issues

Child health clinics are held across the county in a variety of venues where Health and Children's Centre staff provide support for:

  • your child's growth and development
  • sleeping
  • infant feeding
  • coping with minor illnesses
  • managing a crying baby
  • immunisations
  • toileting
  • any other concerns you have about your child, yourself or your family.
