Help us spread the word about Healthy Start Scheme for eligible families

Healthy Start helps eligible pregnant people and families with children under four-year-olds buy healthy food, milk and vitamins.

Families can receive up to £9.30 per week, worth around £1,000 per child over four years.

Have your say - The Children’s Commissioner launches The big future survey

The Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, has launched "The Big Future" – her final national survey asking children and young people what they want for their future.

This is a great opportunity for children and young people to share their views on their communities, their biggest concerns, and what a good childhood should look like today. The findings will be used to influence decisions and advocate for change at a national level.

The survey is open until Friday 23 October.

Resources to support participation – including a video, lesson plan and stakeholder toolkit – are available on The Children's Commissioner's website

Community and School-Aged Immunisation Service (NHS)

Immunisation programme for school age children in Suffolk including children that are home educated, for outstanding vaccinations for HPV, Meningitis ACWY, Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio, MMR, Flu.

Everyone Active

Mid-Suffolk Council, along with Activities Unlimited and Everyone Active have joined together to provide climbing wall sessions at Everyone Active in Stowmarket.

These are specifically for children and young people with SEND. Booking is advisable due to number restrictions.

The sessions are subsidised by the council to support children and young people with SEND to try something new in a safe and friendly environment.

Forest Schools and Rural Studies

• Forest School activities with food production, traditional agriculture and food preparation.
• Mondays 10am-1pm term time

Lowestoft Town Council

Free Sporting Sessions in Lowestoft

Lowestoft Town Council are offering free sporting sessions to home educated children. these sessions will be free of charge and all equipment will be provided. these sessions will not be coaching but more fun and social sessions to encourage participation.

• Mondays from 10am till 11am at Normanston Park Courts.
• Wednesdays from 11:30am till 12:30pm at Kensington Garden Courts.
