Who is this course for?
You must hold a valid UK car driving licence (Category B), recent driving experience and have the right to work in the UK. We cannot accept applications from learners with more than 6 points on their licence. A driver medical examination is required. Before enrolling, you'll complete a short informal assessment.
What will you learn?
Prepare for your Cat C HGV licence. Master vehicle weights, dimensions, driving techniques and legal essentials like CPC, EU hours, tachos and theory. Learn driving safely with vulnerable road users, driver health and safety (PPE, ADR basics), daily walk-around checks and defect reporting. Understand safe loading, load distribution, driver wellbeing (health, stress), fuel-efficient eco-driving, fatigue management and first aid.
Who is eligible?
The programme is open to people that live or work within Norfolk or Suffolk.
You may be eligible to apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you:
- are aged 19 or over,
- have the right to work in the UK,
- meet residency requirements (your provider will check this).
Companies will pay a small employer contribution.
