Flightpath to employment - core aviation skills - level 2 and level 3

This is a level 2 and 3 programme is perfect for those eager to begin a career in aviation. Delivered by Saxon Air.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for people who are unemployed, long-term unemployed, returning to work, MOD moving into civilian life, ex-offenders. Reasonable computer skills are an advantage. Applicants should demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career within the aviation or wider transport and logistics sector.

No prior aviation or technical experience is required; however, the following baseline requirements apply:

Age

Applicants must be a minimum of 19 years old on or before the course start date.

Residency

Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.

Education

A good standard of literacy and numeracy (typically equivalent to Level 2 / GCSE Grade C/4 or above). Support will be given to those who need it.

Skills

Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use email, online learning platforms, and Microsoft Office tools.

Behavioural expectations

A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work as part of a team in a professional training environment. 

Other checks (where applicable)

A DBS check may be required for participants undertaking work placements or site visits involving young people or secure facilities.

Driving licence is preferred but not essential for access to certain practical training venues.

Who is eligible?

The programme is open to people that live or work within Norfolk or Suffolk.

You may be eligible to apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you:

  • are aged 19 or over,
  • have the right to work in the UK,
  • meet residency requirements (your provider will check this).

Companies will pay a small employer contribution.
