CAD for construction - level 3

Ideal for anyone who wants to become a designer, a CAD technician, or a building company keen to offer design and build. This course is delivered by HXBL.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at small building company owners, contractors and aspiring CAD technicians.

  • Introduction to built environment.
  • Understanding construction drawings.
  • Use leading CAD software to design four case study projects; a new build, home extension, loft conversion and your own bespoke project to showcase your new skills.
  • Understanding an estimate take-off.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Introduction to health and safety and design stage risk mitigation.
  • Introduction to CDM 2015 and the role of the designer.

Who is eligible?

The programme is open to people that live or work within Norfolk or Suffolk.

You may be eligible to apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you:

  • are aged 19 or over,
  • have the right to work in the UK,
  • meet residency requirements (your provider will check this).

Companies will pay a small employer contribution.
