Firefighters tackled a blaze in four acres of stubble in a farm field in Suffolk.

It started in land off Main Road in Tuddenham St. Martin around 2.20pm today (Friday September 18).

Firefighters extinguished the flames with hose-reel jets after creating a fire break with the help of the farmer.

A total of seven fire engines were deployed from Ipswich East, Ipswich Princes Street, Woodbridge, Needham Market and Haverhill.

Also deployed was an Operational Support Unit and a Command Support Vehicle.

There were no persons injured in this incident and a Stop notice was issued at 3:27pm.
