House fire in Lowestoft

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to a property on Beccles Road, Lowestoft, at 12.16pm following reports of a fire and a person inside the building. Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and safely rescued one male casualty, who was given immediate trauma care by firefighters before being handed into the care of the ambulance service.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters using hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation equipment was used to clear smoke from the property.

Police and ambulance colleagues also attended. The occupant will be supported with temporary accommodation arrangements through the local authority.
