Gas leak after car collides with house, Newmarket

A woman was treated by medics after a car collided with a house in Newmarket, rupturing a gas pipe.

The incident happened shortly after 2am on Tuesday September 15 in Park Lane.

Residents from adjoining properties were evacuated from their home after Cadent was called to assess the damaged pipe.

They were allowed back into their homes after Cadent made the scene safe.

The damaged house was being ventilated of gas by the fire service using portable fans.

Two appliances from Newmarket attended and a Stop notice was issued at 3.54am.

Police and ambulance were also in attendance. The police reference number is 25, the ambulance refence number is 352.
