Fire in West Meadows, Ipswich

Six fire engines from across Suffolk were sent to deal with a fire in West Meadows, Ipswich.

The crews – four from Princes Street, one from Ipswich East and one from Bury St Edmunds – were called to investigate multiple reports of smoke in the West Meadows area.

On arrival, they found refuse and tyres well alight – covering an area approximately 30 metres by twenty metres.

A stop was called to the incident at 5:45pm.
