Three fire engines and a water carrier have been mobilised to a fire in the open that can be seen from the A14.
Crews from Princes Street and Ipswich East are already on scene, with a crew from Needham Market and water carrier from Newmarket en route.

Crews are attempting to surround the fire, which is currently covering approximately two acres of grassland. An extended hose reel jet is in use, along with beaters.
Firefighters have requested that police attend to close the eastbound carriageway of the A14 at the Whitehouse Road junction to allow them to tackle the blaze.

Police are now in attendance and are implementing a rolling roadblock. The eastbound carriageway of the A14 is being closed to support firefighting operations and ensure the safety of crews working close to the roadside.
An additional water carrier is being used to support water supplies at the incident.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and expect delays on the A14 while emergency services remain at the scene.
