Fire in industrial units, Bury St Edmunds

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance at a large fire on Rougham Industrial Estate near Bury St Edmunds.

The service was called at 10.35am to in three commercial units in Woodlands Road.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus and hoesereel jets are tackling the fire.

There are no reported casualties.

An aerial turntable ladder is in attendance along with 10 fire engines, plus two from Thetford in Norfolk.

The fire is ongoing and the public is asked to avoid the scene at this time.

Update 1.15pm

The numbers of appliances attending the scene has now been reduced to four, plus specialist appliances. Firefighting operations remain ongoing.

A Stop notice has now been issued and damping down is now underway.

There are now three fire engines attending and an investigation into the cause will begin
