East Bergholt Bonfire

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire in East Bergholt on the morning of Saturday 22 August.

The fire involved wood and building materials that had been placed and set alight in a disused outdoor swimming pool measuring approximately 10 metres by 4 metres. The fire was located close to a residential property and nearby conifer trees.

Two fire engines attended the incident one from Holbrook, the other from Princes Street Ipswich. Firefighters used one hose reel jet, one main jet and water supplied from a nearby hydrant to extinguish the fire and prevent it spreading.

Crews remained on scene to damp down the area and ensure the fire was fully extinguished before leaving.
