Compost heap fire in Monks Eleigh

Crews were called to a 500-600 tonne compost heap which was well alight at 6:21am. 

Three pumps attended, finding approx 200 tonnes of the compost heap alight. 

Update 8:22am

Progress is being made to extinguish the fire, with 3 jets in use alongside 1 thermal imaging camera to look for hotspots. 

The incident was closed at 8:55am.
