Crews from Princes Street, Ipswich East, Haverhill and Needham Market have been mobilised to attend a fire at a large primary school in Ipswich.
A member of staff called Control at 12:28pm to report a smell of smoke. The caller was unsure of its source.
Everyone from the building was evacuated by school staff and there is no one left inside.
Four standard appliances, a rescue tender (a fire engine equipped with enhanced equipment), and an aerial ladder platform have been mobilised, with some crews already in attendance.
The fire has since been confirmed to have taken hold in the roof of a two-storey building.

Police are on scene to put a road closure in place. The public are advised to avoid the area.

School children are being collected by parents.
Fire now believed to be extinguished - crews checking for hotspots.
Fire was located in the roof of the Early Years building, which is single-storey, measuring approximately 40m x 40m.
Sidegate Lane now reopened following earlier closure.
