Traffic surveys

The Traffic Survey Team undertakes automated traffic surveys to capture the speed, volume and classification of road traffic in Suffolk. The team always displays contact details on its equipment. They do not undertake traffic surveys on trunk roads.

Requesting existing data only

Existing data that the Traffic Survey Team has collected is available from trafficsurvey@suffolkhighways.org at a charge of £55 plus VAT per set of data.

If you are interested in obtaining a traffic survey from us, please send the following information to trafficsurvey@suffolkhighways.org:

• A plan showing the site in which you are interested.
• When you want the traffic survey carried out.
• The traffic survey that you require, for example, volume; speed; classification (please note that these sets of data can be obtained from the same survey, but require separate processing and presentation of data, examples available on request).

Private companies undertaking a traffic survey in Suffolk

If you wish to conduct a traffic survey in Suffolk:

Private companies carry out traffic surveys in Suffolk. They should display their contact details on their equipment, and members of the public should use these to get in touch with them directly if they have any queries.
