Sexual health is a state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being regarding your sexuality. It is not just the absence of sexually transmitted illnesses (STI’s) but also a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships. In the UK, the age of sexual consent is 16.
Before taking part in any sexual activity all participating partners must give informed, enthusiastic consent and this can be withdrawn at any time, and with the withdrawal of consent- sexual activity must be stopped. Informed consent is when everybody knows exactly what is going to happen, enthusiastic is when everybody is willing, happy, and comfortable with sexual activity.
