Direct payments and personalisation approach

The approach document explains why the change is happening, what the change will be, and how it will be put into action. It was created together with people who use our services, their families and carers, and staff and providers from Adult Social Care.

The approach is built around four key objectives, written from the perspective of the person receiving support:

• You will have clear, easy to understand, accessible, and timely information about direct payments, individual service funds, and other personalisation options
• You will access direct payments and individual service funds through a clear and simple process
• You will have access to the right support to help you use your direct payment/ individual service fund
• You will have more options and more flexibility to meet your care and support needs through your direct payment/individual service fund
