Statutory Ceremony

Guidance and information about statutory ceremonies at some of our Register Offices.

You can have a statutory marriage ceremony or civil partnership formation with two witnesses and no additional guests at our Ipswich, Lowestoft and Sudbury offices.

These are held in office environments and cover the legal requirements with minimal legal wording.

Ceremonies do not include:

  • Additional vows
  • A statement of commitment
  • Readings
  • Music
  • Children or babies being present
  • Use of a decorative ceremony room

Statutory ceremonies are only available on selected dates with limited availability.
