Stowmarket Chilton Leys - traffic regulation order consultation

Information on the proposed waiting restrictions outside Grace Cook Primary School

Suffolk County Council (district of Mid Suffolk) (stopping, waiting and loading prohibitions and restrictions and on-street parking places) (map-based) order 2019 (parish of Stowmarket) (various roads) (prohibition and restriction of waiting) (variation no.29) order 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3),4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would incorporate revision 0 of Map Tiles EO97 and EO98 into the above-named 2019 Order. The effect of this would be to introduce:

Double Yellow Lines (‘No waiting at any time’) on: 

  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its north side, from a point 10 metres south-west from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 22 metres and extending into Read Close on both sides for a distance of 10 metres.
  • Fuller Way (U4540), on both sides, from a point 92 metres south-west from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 29 metres.
  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its south side, from a point 28 metres south-west from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 3 metres. 
  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its south side, from a point 10 metres north-east from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 2 metres. 
  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its south side, from a point 28 metres north-easterly from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 19 metres. 
  • Fuller Way (U4540), on both sides, from a point 14 metres west from its junction with Tynan Crescent and Brooke Way to east for a total distance of 29 metres and extending into Tynan Crescent for a distance of 10 metres.
  • Brooke Way (U4540), on both sides, from a point 48 metres east of the western junction with Tynan Crescent for a total distance of 43 metres and extending into Sassoon Crescent and Tynan Crescent for a distance of 10 metres. 

Single Yellow Lines (‘No waiting 8am-9am, 3pm-4pm Monday-Friday’) on:

  • Read Close (U4540), on both sides, from a point 10 metres north from the junction with Fuller Way (U4540) extending north for 30 metres then, from a point 12 metres west of this point extending in a in a north-easterly direction for the remainder of its length, measuring 120 metres, and extend also into the section extending in a southerly direction for 11 metres.
  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its north side, from a point 63 metres south-west from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 53 metres.
  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its north side, from a point 28 metres north-easterly from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 62.56 metres.
  • Brooke Way (U4540), on both sides, from a point 15 metres east from its western junction with Tynan Crescent to east for a total distance of 33 metres.
  • Tynan Crescent (U4540), on both sides, from a point 10 metres south of its junction with Fuller Way (U4540) and Brooke Way, following the length of the road for a total distance of 170 metres.

‘20 minutes waiting, no return within 1 hour 8am-9am, 3pm-4pm Monday-Friday’ on:

  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its south side, from a point 63 metres south-west from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 35 metres.
  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its south side, from a point 25 metres south-west from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 35 metres.

‘No Stopping 8am-4.30pm Monday-Friday’ on:

  • Fuller Way (U4540), on its south side, from a point 47 metres north-easterly from its junction with Read Close to east for a total distance of 43.56 metres.

Zig-Zags (‘No waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time’) on:

  • Fuller Way (U4540), on both sides, from a point 12 metres north-east from its junction with Read Close to north-east for a total distance of 16 metres.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for blue badge-holders.
