Vehicle fire leads to closure of A14 near Higham

Three fire appliances, one from Bury St Edmunds and two from Newmarket, were mobilised to attend the fire, which led to crews closing the eastbound carriageway to protect both the public and themselves as they battled the blaze.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The incident was stopped at 8:39pm and closed at 9:38pm.
