Firefighters are at the former Parkway Middle School in Haverhill, tackling a large fire that has broken out (12 May).
Crews from Woodbridge, Orford, Haverhill, Wickhambrook and Bury St Edmunds are on the scene, with 9 fire engines in total in attendance.
The fire service has received more than 60 calls from members of the public, with smoke being seen from a long distance away.
Residents are advised to keep all windows and doors shut. People should avoid the area, not travel towards the incident unless essential, and allow emergency services clear access to the scene.
Multiple fire, police and ambulance resources are in attendance.

There are now 12 fire engines at the scene, including crews from Sudbury, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Clare and Long Melford.

The building has partially collapsed with 90% of it involved in the fire. Crews are making good progress on site.

There continues to be a large multi-agency presence at the scene. The derelict building is now collapsing.

Firefighters have worked through the night to bring the fire under control. While there are still a number of fire engines at the scene of the former school, numbers are now down to 4 at the site, with 3 on their way over.

Firefighters remain at the scene with a multi-agency presence continuing throughout the morning. Police are maintaining the cordon while crews continue hot spotting and dampening down, a fire investigation will begin later today.

Fire Service activity at the scene has now been scaled back, with one fire engine remaining to monitor and extinguish isolated hotspots. Police remain on scene with cordons in place while investigations continue. A further reinspection of the site is planned for 7pm this evening.
