If you need to contact the Land Charges team at Suffolk County Council, you can telephone 01473 264190 or email land.charges@suffolk.gov.uk.

A local land charge search is used to find any restrictions and legal obligations on a site as part of the conveyancing process.
It may be required when a property or parcel of land is being purchased, leased or re-mortgaged.
A full local authority search requires two forms:
Contact your district or borough council to arrange a LLC1 search.
We provide CON 29 searches.
The Commons Registration Act 1965 required local authorities in England and Wales to establish registers of common land and town and village greens within their areas; recording the extent of the land, the owners of the land and any rights held over the common.
Land charges compile, maintain and, if appropriate, amend the registers of commons and town and village greens.
We do not normally become involved in the management of commons or the enforcement or protection of rights of common, unless we happen also to be the owners of those commons, or manage them by agreement.
