Proposed Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) – Various Roads, Stowmarket

Details on the proposed TRO to introduce a new prohibition of waiting on roads within the Gateway 14 development

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF MID SUFFOLK) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019 (PARISH OF STOWMARKET) (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.23) ORDER 202-

Suffolk County Council is proposing a new Traffic Regulation Order which will introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ on:

  • Both sides of Gateway Boulevard, Stowmarket, for its entire length;
  • Both sides of Starfinder Way, Stowmarket, for its entire length;
  • Both sides of Gostling Avenue, Stowmarket, for its entire length;
  • Both sides of Creeting Road East, Stowmarket, from a point 136 metres south of the centre of its junction with Buzzard Rise in a south easterly direction for 32 metres to the new termination point of the road, including all sides of the turning head.

Suffolk County Council is proposing to introduce new lengths of No Waiting at Any Time on both sides of the road along Gateway Boulevard, Starfinder Way and Gostling Avenue, which are newly constructed roads on the Gateway 14 development. In addition, new lengths of No Waiting at Any Time are proposed on all sides of the new turning head constructed at the old junction of Creeting Road East (Stowmarket) and Creeting Road (Creeting St Peter).

Gateway 14 is the new business, manufacturing and logistics park situated to the east of the A1120 and to the south of the A14. The proposals are required to keep the roads and junctions clear of parked vehicles with the purpose of facilitating the passage of traffic and avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road, which may arise from new turning movements, increased traffic usage and increased pedestrian and cyclist activity in the area.
