Ipswich Town Centre - Traffic Regulation Order

Suffolk County Council is proposing to amend some existing waiting restrictions in Ipswich, town centre.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2019 (IPSWICH) (TOWN CENTRE) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.33) ORDER 202

Suffolk County Council is proposing to amend some existing waiting restrictions in Ipswich, Town centre. The restrictions on waiting and loading in the Ipswich town centre pedestrianised area are proposed to discourage motor vehicles from being driven on streets where an existing access restriction prevents this by allowing enforcement to be undertaken by Ipswich Borough Council acting as agent to Suffolk County Council for civil parking enforcement. The times of the proposed restriction on the loading and unloading of goods match those in the existing access restrictions (where vehicles permitted to load or unload goods must leave the street(s) in question by 11am).

Suffolk County Council previously consulted on this proposal between 19 January 2024 and 9 February 2024. Any representations received during the initial consultation will still be considered at the end of the current consultation period.

A copy of the draft order and plans showing the road affected, together with a copy of the Council’s reasons for this proposal, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday; also at County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich, IP1 3DE, 9am – 6pm Monday; 9am - 7pm Tuesday; 9am- 6pm Wednesday and Thursday; 9am -7pm Friday; 8:30am - 5pm Saturday; and 10am - 4pm Sunday.
