Active Travel Woodbridge – the Thoroughfare and Cumberland Street

Suffolk County Council would like to hear your views on proposed options for the Thoroughfare and Cumberland Street in Woodbridge.

The changes are designed to:

• Protect the historic town centre by reducing traffic flow from the Thoroughfare and Cumberland Street after Quay Street is made one-way.
• Create quieter, safer streets for residents, visitors, and shoppers.
• Maintain exit routes from the town centre and ensure continued access for residents, emergency services, waste collection, buses, schools and deliveries.

Business survey – working for a better Thoroughfare in Woodbridge

Suffolk County Council would like to invite businesses along the Thoroughfare to share their insights on their delivery practices. This feedback will help us explore ways to enhance the area, including potential improvements to pavements and traffic flow to support businesses and customers.

The survey is open until 9 January 2026.
