The Community Safety Team at Suffolk County Council offer a range of free training opportunities to front line practitioners within Suffolk County Council and our wider partners on the following topics:

  • Criminal exploitation
  • Preventing radicalisation
  • Violence against women and girls (VAWG)

The interactive training is available throughout the year and delivered by subject matter experts, either virtually via Microsoft Teams or face to face. This will be made clear before you book.

The training offer will be updated according to service needs. All training is free for Suffolk practitioners to attend.

Training information

Criminal exploitation

A number of different sessions are offered which include:

  • sessions that cover exploitation, modern slavery, human trafficking and professional reporting
  • case study workshops to reinforce learning
  • tailored sessions based on the needs of the audience
  • both online and face to face training sessions

Preventing radicalisation (Prevent)

Workshop to raise awareness of prevent (WRAP) training sessions are designed to:

  • support practitioners to identify signs of radicalisation
  • teach practitioners what to consider when making a referral

Violence against women and girls (VAWG)

Domestic abuse (DA) champion training offers:

  • ways to identify signs of domestic abuse
  • knowledge on how to refer people to local support
  • free training to anyone living or working in Suffolk
