Crews from 10 different stations attended a significant fire that had to be sectorised into four separate areas to make it easier to tackle.

Using breathing apparatus, four main jets and an aerial ladder, firefighters fought the blaze for a number of hours, pulling additional water from moats next to the property.

Cordons were put in place due to the risk of building collapse.

Three occupants were present and accounted for upon arrival.

UK Power Networks isolated the power to the property, and the Environment Agency was informed about run off into the moats.

A stop was called at 03:24am, signalling no further resources were required.

Up until around 8am, crews were still extinguishing hot spots. One crew remains on scene.

Once the fire had been extinguished, firefighters entered the property to salvage as many of the homeowners' valuables as possible.
