Residents in the area surrounding Haughley Road, Harleston, are advised to keep all windows and doors closed due to an ongoing open field fire.
Emergency crews are currently in attendance and are working to contain and manage the situation safely. Smoke will be visible in the surrounding areas.
High winds are making conditions difficult for firefighters who are using two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze that became established in a large muck heap (approximately 100 tonnes).
The farmer, under crew supervision, is using a teleporter to help spread the pile to a hard standing area.
Police also on scene to manage road signage due to smoke from the fire affecting nearby roads.
Members of the public are asked to avoid the area where possible. If travel is necessary, please drive with caution on nearby roads.
