Lorry fire at Sizewell B power station in Leiston

Fire crews from Leiston, Aldeburgh and Framlingham used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and covering jet to extinguish a fire that ignited in the rear compartment of a lorry carrying shredded wastepaper. 

No casualties reported. 

The incident was stopped at 11:18, indicating no further resources were required.

Firefighters from Aldeburgh and Framlingham remained on scene until 12.22pm to assist with the removal of excess waste from the vehicle. 

The incident was closed at 2.13pm.
