A bedroom fire in a house on Robeck Road, Ipswich leads to multi-agency response.

Following an anonymous call to Control, two fire engines from Ipswich East Fire Station and one from Felixstowe were mobilised to attend a house fire. The caller reported smoke issuing from the property.

Due to the possibility of persons inside, the ambulance service and police were also mobilised.

On arrival, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus located the fire in a back bedroom on the first floor. 

A sole occupant was placed into the care of the ambulance service (their ref: 2015). 

Two hose reel jets and one covering jet were used to extinguish the fire, which was reported as fully extinguished at 1:59pm, at which time a stop was called, signalling that no further resources would be required. 

The possible presence of asbestos in the fascias and guttering was identified as an additional risk to firefighters. 

A fire investigation will be conducted to try to establish the most probable cause of the fire.
