First Floor Flat Fire in Newmarket

Crews were called at 21:41 to reports of a first floor flat fire at Churchill Court Flats, Churchill Court, Newmarket.

A total of six fire engines from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service have been mobilised to the incident, attending from, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Ixworth, Brandon and Newmarket. 

In addition, three fire engines from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance.

It is believed that no one is currently in the affected flat. As a precaution, other flats on the first floor are being evacuated.

Firefighters are using hose reel jets to tackle the fire, which is believed to be contained to the flat.
