Firefighters from Haverhill were called to a report of a dog in a first floor window of a house believed to have been vacant for two weeks. The crew forced entry through a door before rescuing the dog which was shut in an upstairs room. The dog was in an awful condition and has been taken to the vets for urgent medical treatment. It is believed to be around a year old and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type breed.
