Fire crews were called to attend the incident at 09:08am by the ambulance service.

Upon arrival, firefighters assisted by extricating the male driver from the HGV.

Two female casualties from the car involved were already in the care of the ambulance service.

A road closure was put in place by the police (police ref: 47) from Junction 57 for the A1189 Nacton Road to Junction 56 for the A137 Wherstead Interchange. Both lanes remain closed.

A stop was called at 9:50am.
