Building fire in Sudbury

Crews from Sudbury, Long Melford and Nayland were called to attend a building fire at the Boathouse Bistro on Cross Street in Sudbury. 

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus discovered a bin fire within the timber framed Turkish restaurant, which they extinguished before checking the rest of the property for fire spread. 

The power to the restaurant was isolated for firefighter safety. 

A stop was called at 5:51pm as no further resources were required. 

A crew from Sudbury has remained on scene to check for hotspots. 

Incident closed at 9.13pm.
