Suffolk Firefighters' Pension Board

About the Firefighters' Pension Board at Suffolk County Council.

The role of the Suffolk Firefighter's Pension Board is defined by sections 5 (1) and (2) of the Public Services Pensions Act 2013.

This includes:

  • assisting the County Council as scheme manager:
    • to secure compliance with the Firefighters' Pension Scheme Regulations and any other legislation relating to the the governance and administration of the Firefighters' Pension Scheme;
    • to secure compliance with requirements imposed in relation to the Firefighters' Pension Scheme by the Pensions Regulator in such matters as the Firefighters' Pension Scheme Regulations may specify; 
  • securing the effective and efficient governance and administration of the Firefighters' Pension Scheme.
