Two vehicle RTC involving a lorry and a car

Crews from Clare and Haverhill are currently on scene to rescue a female driver who is trapped in her vehicle following a collision with a lorry. Firefighters will have to remove the car's roof in order to extricate her. 

An air ambulance, land ambulance and the police are also in attendance. The Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) has also been mobilised, which is a team of highly skilled paramedics who have been specially trained to provide medical care in complex and hazardous environments.  

In addition to the crews already at the incident, an additional crew from Bury St Edmunds is on route with one of the Service's rescue tenders - a fire engine carrying specialist rescue equipment. 

No further information is known at this time.

Having been freed from the car, the female driver was placed in the care of the ambulance service.  

This incident was stopped at 3:28pm, which signals that no additional resources were required, and closed at 4:08pm.
