Single vehicle RTC - Police requested fire service

A police call into Control led to the mobilisation of fire engines from Ipswich East and Hadleigh Fire Stations (one from each) to extricate an elderly couple, reported trapped in their overturned car. 

Land ambulance and helicopter also assigned. 

Police closed the road while crews worked to free the gentleman, who is now in the care of the ambulance service.

When crews arrived on scene, his female companion had already been escorted from the car by people who stopped to assist. 

No other vehicles believed to be involved. 

A stop was called at 1:53pm but the incident is yet to be closed.
